All in the family

For some odd reason, I had trouble falling asleep tonight. My mind was wandering all over the place instead of counting sheep like I'd hoped would happen. Anyway, my mind did wander to a nice, warm, and very comforting thought-- so I'd share it:

In the past 10 days, Jack was able to see so many members of his family. Between our trip to Maryland last weekend and time in Columbus this past weekend (complete with a surprise visit for Nonna G & Uncle Danny last night, he has seen:
-Pop & Grandma
-Nonna G
-Grandpa and Chris
-Uncle Kev & Aunt Lette, Calvin & Cameron
-Uncle Kevin
-Uncle Danny
-Great Pop & Great Grandma
-Great Godmom, Aunt Nancy
-Great Uncle Mike & Great Aunt Betty
-Great Uncle Bob & Great Aunt Lek
-Cousins to boot :)

All within the past 10 days and all within driving distance. This is yet another reason that I really like where we live. Yes, we could chase careers to the coasts (and there's nothing wrong with doing that :), but for us, its so important to be able to see family and have them as active in his life as possible. We're fortunate right now that we can grow our careers here, while being able to have family in driving distance for frequent visits. We don't take that for granted one bit--- especially in this economy. We're very lucky to be able to do this.
