Wasn't sure if I should call this "College Advantage" or "the Advantage of College." Either title would suffice. With all the financial woes in the world, we keep grounding ourselves by saying that we have what's most important: a wonderful family. We have the child we've always wanted and are fiercely determined to provide him (and any other future children) with the best possible opportunities. Mike and I were both given an amazing stepping stone into "the real world." Not only were we able to go to college and get a terrific education, we graduated without a single student loan. We owe this to our parents who saved and saved and then saved some more. We did help out a little ourselves (Mike had a great athletic scholarship and I did work a bit during school to help pay for some of the "fun" of college)....but we were so lucky to have parents who A) Put such a focus on the importance of a great education and made it a priority in our world from the very beginning, B) Encouraged us ALWAYS to go after our dreams, and C) Were so fiscally responsible to save for our college education. So, we strive to be just like them and offer Jack (and any of his little sisters or brothers that may enter our world in a couple of years) this same great "stepping stone."

We did it-- our application is complete and Jack's account for college is established. The great thing about Ohio's tax-deferred education savings program is that it can be used at any accredited university in the country. We're pretty excited!
