A weekend of firsts

Jack and I went to Columbus for the weekend. I had a client event at the Memorial Golf Tournament and it was also Cameron's first piano recital. My parents came out and we made a weekend of it.

Its amazing how it seems as though Jack's contantly doing new things. It seems like daily, we're noticing some else that he couldn't do the day before. They aren't big milestones, just little things that make us all smile in delight.

We had a couple firsts:

1) First time holding the hands of an adult and taking some steps. (By now way is this walking, but its really cool to see him trying to manuever on his two legs)

2) First time eating some "real" food...as in food not put through a blender. Per Jack's Pediatrician, we're at the stage now where we introduce "texture." So on came the peaches, Cheerio's, and sliced canteloupe. They were delicious!

3) First time on a swingset (in a baby swing). Kevin and Collette have a swingset in their backyard and they kept the baby swing on for Jack (so sweet of them). He loved it!

4) First time in our development's pool in his baby raft (complete with sun canopy). That was a lot of fun...especially since we got to spend time with Amy and her kids, Brooklyn, Carter and Nolan.

5) All the other firsts things that Jack did...this last one Cameron did. She played 2 songs on the piano in front of a crowd during her first recital. She did such a terrific job!! She didn't even seem nervous! And her curtzee at the end-- well, only Cam could pull it off. She's gonna be a star (and in our book, she already is).

I wonder what new things Jack will do this week?!?!?
