Its the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown

Today was Jack’s first Easter—and boy, did we have a lot of family fun. From Church, to a Canine Easter Egg Hunt, to an early Easter dinner and many nice gifts for the little guy—it was quite a day…

Early in the day we clearly had help from a higher power. We surprised Mike’s grandmother by taking little guy to mass at her church—and he was so well behaved. Little Guy was quiet and content for the entire 70 minute service. About a minute after we sat down, Jack’s nap ended and there he was, as wide-eyed as could be. I thought for sure I would be making a quick dash for the lobby at any given moment, but he was so good. He just looked around, listened to the music, watched the service….it was unreal. Then, Great Grandma Margi got to introduce Jack to her friends at church, which was justgreat.

In honor of our affection for Peanuts, we did an Easter egg hunt this morning for Boomer. Afterall, Jack’s a little young for hunting for eggs. Boomer, on the other hand, is a big fan. We go some heavy-duty plastic eggs and filled them with dry dog food and Boomer had a blast—chasing them, tossing them on the ground, chomping on them as he tried to burst them open. He was quite the entertainer. Then Jack decided he wanted to play in the grass, which he did for the first time.

Then, we had brunch—a very great meal with wonderful company, prior to heading back to Cleveland. Jack opened some very thoughtful presents—and his first Easter Basket. What a day!!
