Tell me a story...

Remember how I was somewhat worried that Jack didn't really seem at all interested in books? I would open them, he would walk away. Mike would start to read one and Jack would climb off the couch and away from us. Well, that's pretty much a thing of the past. Jack is now very into books. There's just one catch: He has to be the reader.

Now, when we sit down to read, Jack holds his own book. He doesn't mind if Mike or I read a different book....as long as he has one on his lap to read. You may be asking how a toddler who only knows a few words read a book. That's a fair question. Imagine Charlie Brown's teacher in any of the Peanuts specials....and then convert that into "toddler-speak." Its just precious. "Bah ba baaah bah, Bub Bah bub ba. (Pauses as he looks around at his audience) Buh-bah bah Ma Ma muh. (Pauses ase he turns the page) Bah-buh Bup Bah buh ba!" He literally pauses as he reads to his audience and turns the pages as his little story contiues.

It may be my new favorite thing he does. You'll want to experience it live-- it'll make your day (it sure makes mine :).

He will also stand up on a kitchen chair and use it like a podium and give you a "real talking to". So cute.
