The Great Outdoors

If Jack had a themesong, right now, it would be "Don't Fence Me In." I've never been around a toddler-- at such a young age -- who CRAVES to be outside. Its unreal. Ever since the weather has warmed up a bit and we've been able to heat outdoors, Jack has been "hooked." We get home from work and school, grab dinner, and then he walks over to every door he can access and tries to open it. When Boomer goes outside, he wants to follow. When its a little too cold outside, he gets a wee bit grumpy, which is quite funny. Sometimes he doesn't understand that he just can't go out. On the weekends...forget about it: He wants outside.

We love this! He tries to mow the lawn. He walks real fast in the grass after Boomer. He throws balls and then jumps on them. He even tries to play tee ball. And, he just loves to go on walks. It doesn't matter where we go--- everyplace: the playground across the street, the sidewalk, the althletic fields, the Metro Parks....every place is an adventure. There's always something new to discover-- to feel, or see, or smell.

Thought it was fitting to write about this on Earth Day. There's nothing better than watching the world through a little kid's eyes.
